Storytime with a Scientist

Help bring science to life, and show connections to kids' lived experiences, by sharing a story featuring African American, Latinx, Native American, or other underrepresented men and women of color in science. Our list of books is growing, and we welcome your suggestions.

Following the featured story, you will lead the class in a simple hands-on science experiment. such as the chromatography of coloring markers or an engineering experiment about storm water drains.

CRS will train your team how to read to a classroom and conduct the experiment.

  • 1 hour sessions for grades TK-2 (about 30 minutes for each section).
  • Teams consist of 1-2 people
