Community Resources for Science’s vision is a community of educators working together to excite all children about learning through the scientific exploration of the world around them.  Your donation will make it possible for CRS to continue providing invaluable resources to educators and impact the lives of thousands of students in Alameda County public schools every year.  We will be able to weave connections between other science organizations, enthusiastic volunteers, and educators in order to inspire children about science.

Here's what your donation can do:

  • $75 One science visit to a class of 25-30 students
  • $100 Customized support for 10 teachers, impact science learning for 250-300 students
  • $250 Training sessions for 10-15 volunteers
  • $500 Field Trip for Teachers event
  • $1,000 Workshop stipends for educators
  • $1,500 'Day of Science' event for the entire 6th grade at one school

Contribute Books for Classrooms

CRS gives books to classroom teachers throughout the year.  We'll find a good classroom home for any new or gently-used science related books appropriate for Kindergarten through 6th grade students.  Nonfiction, as well as fiction that ties in with a scientific theme or issue, are welcome. If you would like to donate books, please email us at giving@crscience.org

Business Sponsors: Contribute Gift Certificates or In-Kind Items

CRS hosts Field Trip Events for Teachers, and Volunteer Appreciation Events for Scientist Volunteers, and we welcome donations of gift certificates or other in-kind food, beverage, or merchandise which we can use to make these events celebratory and festive for our teachers and scientists.

The mission of CRS is to empower teachers and STEM professionals serving schools in historically marginalized communities to activate TK-8 students’ curiosity about the world, foster critical thinking, and inspire children to imagine future career pathways. We envision a community of educators, scientists, families and partners working together to build school cultures that equip all children to explore the world around them and build the skills needed to become innovators, problem solvers, environmental stewards, life-long learners and leaders. CRS leads a dynamic network, fostering relationships and collaborations that leverage expertise and resources to transform science teaching and learning toward greater equity, opportunity, and success for all students.

 

Our goal is simple: help teachers give students more opportunities to “do science” – to ask questions, test ideas, get their hands on real science activities. We need to inspire the next generation of thinkers, makers, problem solvers, and leaders!
