Un-bee-lievable E-STEM Learning
using NGSS with Planet Bee Foundation
Workshop Date: March 25, 2021
Grades 6-12
Presented By: Planet Bee Foundation
Educators learned how to implement Environmental STEM (E-STEM) concepts using math and the engineering mindset as they align with the NGSS while teaching about bees, their importance, biology, and stewardship. Teachers took the place of students as the Planet Bee Foundation illustrated how to effectively incorporate these concepts so they can be used in the classroom. The Planet Bee Foundation is dedicated to conservation and stewardship, which is why they use the teaching lens of the struggling bee as a living reminder to care about the environment and one another. Teachers left with access to all of Planet Be’s differentiated supplementary materials for grades K-12. These materials include lesson plans, interactive games, handouts for students (both printable and digital), and video lessons that dive deeper into the importance of bees for our food systems and ecosystem. Teachers will also have access to our teacher guides, detailed standards alignment, and topic-specific resources to help them broaden their knowledge of bees.
