Become a Member of CRS

CRS information and customized support services are available to teachers anywhere in the San Francisco Bay Area. Currently, our BASIS in-class volunteer program is available primarily in the East Bay (from Richmond through Hayward).  Select the membership that is right for you! We are continually building our database and services based on the needs of our members.  Your requests for information help grow our knowledge base for everyone. 

Your annual CRS Membership provides you with a full 12 months of personalized science planning support. Benefits Include:

  • Comprehensive science resource guide mailed quarterly - (also available on-line)
  • Website & database - Come to the CRS website for planning tools.

Personalized support -- tell us what you need, and we'll help you find it!

  • Looking for something - Field trip or in-class programs, websites for you or your students, materials to support your lesson?  Tell us what you need, and we'll promptly put together a customized report with all the information you need so you can focus on bringing science experiences alive in your classroom.
  • Free in-class presentations from real scientists and engineers

Grant Supported - Elementary Teachers from 
Berkeley USD, Emery USD, Oakland USD, West Contra Costa USD  - Excludes Charter Schools

All Other Teachers - All other Public Schools, Charter Schools, Private Schools, or middle and high school level teachers. Our annual membership fee is $40 dollars, but is currently being discounted to $25

We also offer discounted membership rates for groups of teachers or full faculties. Contact CRS at crs@crscience.org for details.

The mission of CRS is to empower teachers and STEM professionals serving schools in historically marginalized communities to activate TK-8 students’ curiosity about the world, foster critical thinking, and inspire children to imagine future career pathways. We envision a community of educators, scientists, families and partners working together to build school cultures that equip all children to explore the world around them and build the skills needed to become innovators, problem solvers, environmental stewards, life-long learners and leaders. CRS leads a dynamic network, fostering relationships and collaborations that leverage expertise and resources to transform science teaching and learning toward greater equity, opportunity, and success for all students.

 

Our goal is simple: help teachers give students more opportunities to “do science” – to ask questions, test ideas, get their hands on real science activities. We need to inspire the next generation of thinkers, makers, problem solvers, and leaders!
