PD: Food Footprints

Food Footprints: Exploring the Impacts of Food Production, Transportation, and Consumption on our Planet

Workshop Date: November 12, 2020

Grades 4-8
Presented By: Chabot Space & Science Center

This workshop explored the intricate feedback loop that exists between food production, climate change, and our role within it. Through a series of interactive investigations, we analyzed how food choice contributes to greenhouse gas emissions. Then, we explored the challenges climate change creates for food production in return. Finally, we discussed active solutions to this complex feedback loop on an individual, communal, and global level. After the workshop, we brainstormed ways to modify, personalize, or extend an activity like this for your virtual classroom!
