Empathy and Environmental Design
Empathy and Environmental Design
Workshop Date: April 15, 2021
Grades TK-5
Presented By: The Tech Interactive
Climate Change affects habitats in ways that some animals will have trouble adapting to. In this workshop, we explored how birds live, considered the needs of animals experiencing habitat loss and developed tools to help them adapt to changes in their environment. Educators used observation to collect data about bird behavior and identify what birds need. They used empathy to design homes for birds experiencing habitat loss. They also considered how scientists use data to study and protect wildlife.
