Hosting a CIC Volunteer

Placement Process

CIC volunteers choose the topic and the times they would like to offer teachers.  CRS helps develop lesson plans so that activities are age appropriate, hands-on, and connected to grade level standards.

When volunteer presentations are available, all CRS Member Teachers at the appropriate grade level will receive an email invitation.  Teachers are invited to sign up for specific presentation dates on a first-come, first-served basis until the available dates are filled.  Before final placement decisions, we also consider factors such as whether a teacher has had a volunteer presentation yet this year and whether we have received evaluations from previous visits.

Upon placement, confirmations are sent to teachers and volunteers that include complete contact information.  Volunteers appreciate advance information about students’ experience with the topic or special classroom circumstances.
